The 6th Annual St. Justin School Spelling Bee

The Sixth Annual St. Justin School Spelling Bee was held, at morning assembly, January 9, 2014. Eighteen finalists, from grades 3-8, competed for the school championship. Faculty, K-8 students, parents and friends enthusiastically affirmed all the participants, who were finalists from their individual class bees. After many competitive rounds, the school champion was Cailey Larmore, grade 6, spelling the word ‘Freudian’ in the final round. Kevin Bennett and Jin-Hee Lee, both grade 7, competed for the runner-up position, with Ms. Lee taking the spot. The next step for Cailey is a written test in February that will be taken with school winners throughout the Bay Area. The National Scripps Spelling Bee will be held in May, in Washington, DC. Congratulations to all our finalists, and to our school champion, Cailey Larmore!
