Engineers At Work

In their STEM (science) class last week kindergarten students worked in small groups to build Little Pig Houses first made out of plastic straws & wooden sticks, then eventually wooden bricks & tape to test if the house could withstand 20 seconds of the Big Bad Wolf fan wind.

Not to be left out, first grade students each constructed a straw tower as tall as possible out of 20 straws that needed to stand on its own. They were also allowed to use an arm’s length of tape and 20 paperclips to keep the tower upright.

Love to see that creativity and critical thinking at work!
