Mrs. Barbara Kelly Receives Symetra Heroes in the Classroom Award!
Congratulations to St. Justin School’s seventh grade teacher, Mrs. Barbara Kelly, for receiving the Symetra Heroes in the Classroom Award! She was chosen from over 160 nominations submitted to Symetra who teamed with the San Francisco 49ers to honor local teachers making a difference in their classrooms. Members of the 49er organization, including two Gold Rush cheerleaders, presented the award in a surprise assembly. As part of the award, Mrs. Kelly was given two tickets to a 49er home game, a VIP tour of the 49er Museum, a $50 credit to the team store, and a $1,000 donation to St. Justin School.
Anyone familiar with Mrs. Kelly understands why she is such a special teacher. Sabrina Fraker, the St. Justin parent who nominated Mrs. Kelly for the award, noted, “Many teachers are great, but some are just truly amazing. Barb Kelly is the teacher you couldn’t wait to get in the seventh grade. Mrs. Kelly has the gift of making everyone she comes in contact with feel like a million bucks and the most important person in the world. She has the ability to identify and point out the positive in every student and help them grow within their abilities.”
Mrs. Kelly is a long-standing member of the St. Justin community. In addition to teaching at the school for the past 15 years, she is also the mother of four St. Justin graduates, two of which have chosen to follow in their mother’s footsteps by teaching at Catholic schools. She truly is a blessing to the community!
