Community Garden readied for Winter
Our community garden is being prepared for winter. In science, sixth grade students did a soil test to determine whether our soil was neutral, alkaline or acidic. They adjusted the soil to the appropriate pH level and readied our garden for planting. Once the soil was ready, the sixth graders brought their 2nd grade buddies to the garden to plant our Fall/Winter plantings. The vegetables grown in our garden are donated to our Parish Community Ministry food kitchen. We love having hands-on science tied to community service! Our sixth graders are wonderful role models. Mrs. Floerke is bringing science to life!
