All students at St. Justin School participate in the physical education program on Monday and Thursday of each week. (Grades K – 5 have P.E. on both days and grades 6 – 8 have it once a week.) The program is designed to work on the physical, mental, and social development of the child through participation in a variety of games and activities. In the earlier grades, we focus on locomotor and gross motor skills while also introducing the components of fitness. This serves as the foundation for building skill development in various areas of sports, fitness, dance, and other motor activities throughout their years at St. Justin School. Grades 3 – 8 take one written test and have at least one homework assignment per trimester to assess their understanding of the concepts and rules related to specific sports, fitness components, or events that involve the broader physical education world.
